We'd like to thank everyone who helped make '07 the year we got the band back in gear..we got into a lot of new places and kept up with some old favorites. Murry got back on the road, Pete got knocked off it and almost drowned in the nor'easter, Greg and Charlene got married and then got ready to welcome a new Morgan into the world. New Places, New faces This year we have a whole bunch of new places like Monster B's in Stamford and The Field in Fairfield as well as many of our old haunts like the Red Arrow and the Beach Comber. Joining us some for of the gigs is Jim on harp and Malcolm (from the Sofa Kings and Psychobilly Caddlics) on drums. New (old) Sounds MTW has put out another CD,
called simply '82' it is collection of rarities recorded by Murry, Bob
and Ed in an all night session almost 25 years ago! Copies are available at the
gigs along with 'Bellyful of Blues' , 'Black Cat Tale' and
'Live in West Haven'. We managed to get some video on to the web from our Channel 77 show at Mr P's in Stratford back in July. Check it out on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tfq0pyAI7E The video was produced by Jim who also appears on harp in "Big Wheel' You can also hear a decent version of 'Big Wheel' from the 'Live in New Haven' album at our SoundClick page http://members.soundclick.com/bands/murrythewheel Keeping Busy As always the band has been keeping busy with their own projects, ED with recording and a long rumored reunion with Future Tense (at CT. favorite from the 80's and 90's)..we are all looking forward to that! Greg has been working with ex-MTW alumni Day and Bob on a new project of original music as well as taking the drum slot possible slot in a popular CT. group that we cant mention here just yet... When not gigging with the Freddy Watt Band , Pete finally got his solo act together and is currently gigging twice a month at the Red Arrow in Devon supported by Jim from the MTW band on harp. Look for Jimmy B. from the Freddy Watt Band to be on percussion at some of the upcoming show. Pete managed to finish a CD of original music called 'Life, Love, Death and Redemption in a Small Town' and a colleoction of ..Look for CDs at the gigs. Check Pete' s (coming soon) page for dates.
